Lake Vonnes

Located in a magnificent setting on the edge of the forest with views of the mountains, it's the ideal place for a relaxing break.
The area around the lake is well laid out for strolling, with a 180m-long pedestrian bridge over the water!

Created in 1974 and situated at an altitude of 1,250 metres in a natural wetland area, the lake is fed by the Vonnes stream, which originates in Pas de Morgins (Switzerland). In early July 2000, a water jet was commissioned at Lake Vonnes. The installation is built on a stabilised concrete structure at the bottom of the lake, at a depth of approximately 7 metres below the water’s surface. A hollow jet protrudes a few centimetres above the lake’s surface.
Spotlights installed around the perimeter of the discharge pipe allow us to admire this feature in all its splendour.

This water jet, a veritable giant fountain, rises to a height of 40 metres. Furthermore, as it is situated at an altitude of 1,250 metres, it is therefore the highest water jet in France...
